Our Constitutional Republic faces a clear and present danger more deadly than that of the Civil War. The danger is the Republican Party, a "political party" that has sold out to white supremacy, autocracy, misogyny, and hatred of everything our Nation stands for. Republicans dismiss any sense of a common American narrative. The "Republican Party" is an outlier in our history – ideologically extreme; contemptuous of social and economic policies that have sustained us for a century; unwilling to compromise; dismissive of evidence, fact, and science; dismissive of the legitimacy of any viewpoint except their own. America needs to face the simple, frightening fact that the Republican Party is a clear and present danger to our Constitutional Republic.

It’s all about voter turnout

If 55% of registered voters vote, Trump wins.

If 60% of registered voters vote, Harris wins in a close race.

If 65% of registered voters vote, Harris wins in a landslide.

If 70% of registered voters vote, the Republican Party will cease to exist.

I don’t have the exact figures at hand, but this is what happened in Virginia. Biden won Virginia in 2020. In 2021, Virginia elected a new governor, lt governor, and attorney general — Republicans won all three seats. When we looked at turnout:

31% fewer Democrats voted in 2021 than voted in 2020
Only 12% fewer Republicans voted in 2021 than voted in 2020
Republicans won the three seats by slim margins of 1-4%
If only a few more Democrats had voted in 2021, we would have Democratic governor, lt gov, and atty general instead of the MAGAt fools we now have.
