The Real Rob Wittman – Clear and Present Danger

I am unfortunate enough to live in Virginia’ First Congressional District, “represented” in Congress by a no-name “Representative” Rob Wittman of Westmoreland County, VA. Elected in a special election in 2007 after the death of the then-current Representative, Wittman has cruised to re-election ever since — because the First District is 55% – 65% Republican and was gerrymandered to stay that way.

Wittman is typical of back-bench Republicans: He does nothing of any consequence yet his emails and announcements to constituents are filled with bills he has introduced (none of them ever get out of committee) and photos of him visiting throughout the District — he pops into a business where the employees have been told of his coming, told to smile, told to be quiet; the has a couple of photos taken; then, he leaves.

who votes 100% for Donald Trump

who participated in the attempt to overturn the November 2020 Presidential election.

Wittman is among the Republican legislators who participated in the months-long, criminal attempted coup following the 2020 presidential election.

Shortly after the election, Wittman joined a case before the Supreme Court calling for all the votes for president in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — states that were narrowly won by Democrats — to be discarded, in order to change the outcome of the election, based on lies and a preposterous legal argument which the Supreme Court rejected.

On January 6, 2021 in the hours after the insurrection at the Capitol, Wittman voted to reject the state-certified election results of Arizona and/or Pennsylvania (states narrowly won by Democrats), which could have changed the outcome of the election.
