So I spent the last day or so browsing various RFK boards and subreddits. I honestly never paid RFK any real attention, just heard about the whole worm thing, the bear, and the other charges and figured it was better if I just stay the hell away. But I was highly curious about how his supporters feel about him suspending his campaign and endorsing Trump. And they are… uh… not stable.
Here is a run down of the more ‘common’ ideas I’ve seen.
1) RFK suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump because when Trump goes to jail, he will ‘give’ his support to RFK who will then be elected in a landslide, winning 40 + states and something.. the Democrats will fold, and disband the party, and that will be it. (This is a much liked theory.)
2) Trump is going to kick Vance, and make RFK the VP. Trump will then step down after the election (which he wins), RFK will ‘pardon’ him for anything and then RFK will ban vaccines, etc.
3) Trump will embrace RFK’s environmental ideas, and become the most ‘green’ president in the history of the US, and ban oil.
4) The Republican party is going to drop Trump and make RFK their candidate this week.
5) There is no more Republican party, it’s now the ‘Unity’ party and it’s leader is RFK.
6) RFK will make sure that neither Trump or Harris gets to 270. It will go to the house and they will all fall behind.. Kennedy.
7) RFK endorsing Trump is all the fault of the DNC/Biden/Harris. (This is usually stated and followed by a promise to never vote for a Democrat ever again.)
8) Harris ‘stole’ what RFK should have had, and by backing Trump, RFK will get his revenge.
9) RFK suspending his campaign and not ending it means he will still win, he’s just going to run on Trump’s dime. (None of them seem to understand why he suspended it vs ending it. They don’t understand the money part of it at all.)
10) Trump owes RFK now, and RFK will use his ‘massive political leverage’ on Trump to force him to govern as RFK wants him to. Trump will be RFK’s puppet. (I find this one really amusing.)
